About
Hands-on management. Systems we build ourselves.
We start with the business problem: sales, receivables, operations. We decide what changes, what AI does, then build it ourselves.
Business. Product. AI.
Business
Qomero runs two businesses of its own. Kovaa sells B2B packaging and wood through KOVAA Packaging and PTU Wood; ARVUMA sells landscape grass seed, aquatic plants and plant nutrition. Every system we build is used there first.
Product
Qomero's products have real users: Synolang, 3,179 registered.
AI
We direct AI agents with Praukron, our own open-source tool. In the systems people use, AI suggests with its reasons and a person decides.
In this order.
- Understand the business problem. Where revenue comes from, who decides, where the work slows.
- Redesign the process. Some steps only need doing differently, with no software at all.
- Build the system. The smallest thing that works for the agreed process.
- Put AI to work. Where AI can do the work, with a check that stays with a person.
- Measure. Time, rework and throughput, before and after.
Technology on human terms
Five principles that decide what we build, and what we leave to people.
Technology is worth building when people can do more with it.
01 Start with people
Listen to the people who will use the system before designing it.
We ask what people are trying to get done, which decisions they make, and where they get stuck. The constraints they cannot change belong in the design too.
Software can run correctly and still leave people working around it if we have misunderstood the job. Choosing the technology comes after these conversations.
02 Understand how work happens
Software needs to fit how people work together.
Every organisation has its own way of assigning work, approving it, and keeping records. When software overlooks those habits, people make up for it with manual steps every day.
Sometimes the process itself needs to change. We work with the people using it to understand what is getting in the way and why a change is needed before building it into the system.
03 Keep people in charge
The person responsible must be able to review and correct the result.
We identify the steps a machine can handle, the steps where it can assist, and the decisions a person needs to make. How much we automate depends on the consequences of getting a decision wrong.
At important steps, people need to see what the system did and what it relied on. They must be able to inspect the history and reject the result.
04 Help the team work independently
After handover, the team should understand and be able to run the system.
Relying on a useful tool is normal once it becomes part of the working day. What concerns us is people gradually losing their understanding of their own work.
The team needs to know how to run the system, check its output, and explain what it is doing. That is the knowledge we want each project to leave behind.
05 Measure what improved
Measure time saved and work that needs to be redone.
Usage, prompt, and automation counts tell us how much a tool is being used. To find out whether it helps, we need to look at the work that follows.
We look at how long work takes, how much needs correcting, and the effort spent coordinating it. Throughput, clearer decisions, fewer repetitive tasks, and the ability to handle harder work also count.
