Principles

Technology changes what humans can do. We care about what happens to the human in the process.

01

Agency

Technology should increase control, not quietly take it away.

Automation can remove repetitive work without removing human judgment. In systems where decisions matter, people should still be able to understand important state, inspect what happened, and intervene when necessary.

The goal is not to keep humans clicking buttons for the sake of involvement. The goal is to preserve meaningful control where understanding and judgment matter.

02

Purpose

Capability matters more than engagement.

Time spent inside a product is not automatically a sign of value. Neither is the number of prompts, automations, notifications, or generated outputs.

A better question is whether the system helped the person make a better decision, complete meaningful work, learn something durable, or gain more control over the process.

After using this product, is the human more capable than before?

03

Capability over dependency

Useful tools should compound human capability, not hide the work behind permanent dependency.

Some dependency is normal: good tools become part of how work gets done. The failure mode is when a system becomes indispensable mainly because it has removed understanding from the user.

We prefer tools that make state clearer, decisions more legible, and expertise easier to apply.

04

Technology is leverage

We are not interested in being anti-automation. We are interested in using it deliberately.

AI and automation can create enormous leverage. Qomero uses them where they reduce repetitive work, improve retrieval or drafting, reveal structure, or increase the number of useful options available to a person.

The presence of AI is not a product thesis by itself. The relevant question is what capability it adds and what control it removes.

05

Standardize before automating

Automating a broken process makes the broken process faster.

Before software or automation is introduced, the workflow should be understood and made coherent enough to deserve automation.

This is why Qomero starts with the real process, not with a preferred stack or model.

Technology is leverage. The human should remain more capable on the other side of it.
